Publication ‘Regional Branding throughout Europe - Experience sharing in the field of regional products support’ presents different approaches to labelling of local products and services that serve to raise the profile of local producers and diversification of supply for local residents and visitors to the region. The purpose of the publication was to gather interesting speeches given at an international conference held in autumn 2010 in the framework of the project ‘Experience sharing and formation of the international platform in the field of regional products support’, co-financed by the European Social Fund within the Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment

‘The platform of international cooperation which was created by this project confirms that motivation for the introduction of regional branding and its concepts have many similar features all over Europe but at the same time, there is a number of specific aspects not olnz given by different local conditions. Mutual exchange of information and inspiring can therefore contribute not only to development of specific projects but also to raising general awareness of the local production’s potential and to searching for financial sources to support them’, commented Kateřina Čadilová - project manager and national coordinator of the Association of Regional Brands.

In addition to examples from Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, the publication presents also three of the fifteen regions from the Czech Association of Regional Brands. Their representatives shared their experiences in the regional branding also with guests of the launch of this publication, an event prepared in cooperation with the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism, at its media centre ORBIS.
